Joseph O'Malley (they/she) is a photographer and interdisciplinary artist.
Joseph is a New York based (and raised) artist, who has led shoots with Oscar, Emmy, Tony, Grammy, and Golden Globe award winners and nominees. Their work has been featured multiple times in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Town & Country Magazine, High Times Magazine, Flanelle Magazine, and Playbill.com, amongst others.
Their fine art work has also been shown in juried exhibits in galleries around New York, as well as featured in public art installations and independent art festivals. Joseph’s artistic practice focuses on gender, intimacy, and performance, which they explore through projects blending a wide range of aesthetics from documentary photography to narrative filmmaking to installation design and theatrical performance.
Joseph holds a BFA from NYU Tisch and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts, where their thesis project received the Thomas Reiss Memorial Award for its exploration of humanitarian issues.
