Joseph O'Malley (they/she) is a photographer and interdisciplinary artist.

Joseph is a New York based (and raised) artist, who has led shoots with Oscar, Emmy, Tony, Grammy, and Golden Globe award winners and nominees, and their work has been featured multiple times in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Town & Country Magazine, High Times Magazine, and Playbill.com, amongst others.

Their fine artwork has been shown in juried group shows in galleries around New York, as well as featured in public art exhibits and independent art festivals. Click here for info on upcoming shows and opportunities to see Joseph’s work.

Joseph’s artistic practice is focused on gender, intimacy, and performance, which they explore through projects mixing mediums and aesthetics ranging from documentary photography to narrative filmmaking to installation design and theatrical performance. Joseph holds a BFA from NYU Tisch and an MFA in Photography, Video, and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts, where their thesis project received the Thomas Reiss Memorial Award for its exploration of humanitarian issues. The project will be exhibited at SVA’s Chelsea Gallery June 27-July 13. More info about the opening reception coming soon.
